Cultural anthropologist working at the Institute of Polish Culture, University of Warsaw (IKP UW). His academic interests focus on issues of new media, linguistic practices, the role of linguistic media in reshaping other media and cultural practices, and the history of popular culture before 1939. Author of books: Technogadżet w magicznym świecie konsumpcji [Technogadget in the Enchanted World of Consumption, 2016] and Komputery, powieści i kino nieme. Procesy remediacji w perspektywie historycznej [Computers, Novels and Silent Cinema: Remediation Processes in Historical Perspective, 2018]. With Dr Agnieszka Haska he wrote books and articles about popular culture of the first half of the twentieth century, especially with connections to the imaginary-futures and science fiction themes of that period.
