Assistant Professor at the Institute of Polish Culture. Between 2017 and 2020 she was Head of the Section for Film and Visual Culture and editor-in-chief of the academic journal „Pleograph”. Since 2020 she is Deputy Director for Student Matters. 

She specializes in film theory and history, philosophy of image, visual history of Polish culture, and history of French culture. She is the author of Somatografia. Ciało w obrazie filmowym [Somatography. The Body in the Film Image] (Kraków 2011), which was translated into Russian in 2014, and co-author of Kultura wizualna w Polsce. Fragmenty [Visual Culture in Poland: Extracts] and Kultura wizualna w Polsce. Spojrzenia [Visual Culture in Poland: Glances] (Warszawa 2017).  She is the co-editor of Nie chcę spać sam. Kino Tsai Ming-Lianga [I Don’t Want to Sleep Alone. The Cinema of Tsai Ming-Liang] (Kraków 2009), Spojrzenie Antonioniego [Antonioni’s Gaze] (Warszawa 2015), Sztuka w kinie dokumentalnym [Art in the Documentary Film] (Warszawa 2016), Nowa Kinofilia: przestrzenie i afekty [New Cinephilia: Spaces and Affects] (Warszawa 2018), Przeostrzenia. Kino wobec transformacji ustrojowych 1945 i 1989 [Oversharpening. The Cinema in the Face of Political Transformations of 1945 and 1989] (Warszawa 2023), and the academic reader Antropologia kultury wizualnej [Anthropology of Visual Culture] (Warszawa 2012). She has also published in many academic journals, including „Kwartalnik Filmowy”, „Konteksty” and „EKRANy”. 

In 2013, she was a guest lecturer at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris. She was a fellow at the Bogliasco Foundation for Arts and Humanities (Bogliasco, Italy, Spring 2016) and Fondation Maison des sciences de l’homme (Paris, France, Spring 2018). 

Between 2013 and 2017 she was a team member of the National Science Center research project „Visual culture in Poland: Theories, Languages and Meta-images”.
