Mgr Justyna Jaworska

A graduate of the Faculty of Polish Studies at the University of Warsaw, Justyna Jaworska is affiliated with the Section for Cultural History at the Institute of Polish Culture. Member of Collegium Invisibile and the Research Group for the History of Drama (1864–1939) at the Institute of Polish Literature, University of Warsaw. In the past, she collaborated with the Witkacy Institute as part of the editorial team of Witkacy – czasopismo and the Stefan Żeromski Association. She is the founder of the UW Interdisciplinary Association of Language of Literature “Solilokwium” whose activities she continues to support.

Currently a PhD Candidate at the Doctoral School of Humanities at the University of Warsaw, she is working on a dissertation exploring the linguistic and cultural representations of Jesus Christ and His natures in early modern New Testament texts from both the Catholic and Protestant canons. Her research is supervised by Dr. hab. Igor Piotrowski (IKP UW) and Prof. Mariusz Leńczuk (IJP PAN).

Research Interests: Her academic CV reflects a blend of interests in early modern history and the challenges and opportunities of contemporary issues. Her previous research has addressed gender studies from a linguistic perspective, including the publication of the article Extension the meaning of the lexeme osoba as an example of a new type of linguistic semantic change. In addition, she explored linguistic and cultural ways of presenting women in biblical texts.

Outreach Activities: An active member of Collegium Invisibile, maintained studytok jaworska.justyna for years and initiated a series of interdisciplinary academic meetings titled Interdisciplinary Dinners of IKNJL “Solilokwium”
