Kamil Aftyka holds a bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Stanford University and a master’s degree in Cultural Studies from University of Warsaw.
In his PhD dissertation, he is working on the ideas of radical prolongation of life that have been formulated since the beginning of the 20th century, as well as their influence on cultural practices. He studies also how the “suprarational”—moods, affects, attitudes (such as modesty), senses or sensuality—shape the social and the cultural. He is interested in creating an ideal model of humanistic education.
